Marchese Antinori
Contessa Maggi

Franciacorta

Produced at the Montenisa estate, it is as refined and elegant as the name it bears. It is produced from selected Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and it represents one of the highest quality expressions of the Franciacorta appellation.
The color is a golden yellow with brilliant highlights, the aromas are intense in their notes of ripe fruit  and the flavors are complex and balanced.
It is a structured and persistent wine whose personality express the most classic traditions of its zone.

FERMENTATION AND AGING

The fermentation takes place partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in oak barrels. The second fermentation, in bottle, is followed by a 40 month period of aging on the lees.

SERVICE AND MATCHES WITH FOOD

The elegance and finesse which characterize this wine make it specially suitable for rather flavourful first courses as well as white meat, fish soups, and fish in general.

TASTING NOTES

A light yellow color with greenish highlights, the wine shows intense and persistent aromas. The flavors are those of white fruit and give the wine elegance and finesse.
